Ancelotti tegaskan Real Madrid tidak akan datangkan bek tengah baru

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has stated that the club will not be bringing in a new central defender in the January 2024 transfer window, despite currently experiencing a crisis in that position.

“We are not thinking of bringing in a new central defender at the moment,” said the Italian coach, as quoted by The Athletic on Tuesday.

The crisis in the heart of Real Madrid’s defense has been a focal point in the 2023-2024 season, with the club losing Eder Militao since the beginning of the season and David Alaba having to end his campaign early due to injury.

Antonio Ruediger and Nacho Fernandez have practically become the only options for Ancelotti to guard the heart of Real Madrid’s defense.

However, Ancelotti stated that he still has faith in two other players, Aurelien Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal, if they need to be played.

“We trust the other two players, Tchouameni and Dani Carvajal, if they need to be played,” Ancelotti emphasized.

Real Madrid currently tops the La Liga standings with 45 points, the same as Girona in second place. Girona is only behind on goal difference from the capital club.

Real Madrid is scheduled to play their first match in 2024 by hosting Mallorca at the Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday (January 4th) in the 19th week of the Spanish La Liga.

In conclusion, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the club will not be signing a new central defender in the January 2024 transfer window, despite their ongoing defensive crisis. Ancelotti believes he can rely on Antonio Ruediger, Nacho Fernandez, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Dani Carvajal to handle the situation. Real Madrid is currently leading the La Liga standings and will face Mallorca in their first match of 2024.
